چکیده

Background: Stem cells have created hope for treatment of obstinate cases as injured spinal cord (ISC).Objective: aims to assess possible early therapeutic effect bone marrow mesenchymal stem (BM-MSCs) on regeneration ISC and estimate effective transplantation routes in animal models. Material Methods: 62 adult male albino rats were used; two BM-MSCs extraction 60 allocated into three groups. Control group: subjected ISC, intralesional (IL) injected with via injection intravenous (IV) at 3rd day post injury (PCI). Rats examined motor functional recovery. SC specimens extracted histological, morphometric, chemical, Immunological statistical studies. Results: Tracing BM-SCs SC, group versus showed higher number engrafted all studied ages gradual decrease from 1st 6th week PCI. The MSCs counts groups highly significantly increased 1st, weeks but only week. They concentrated site then extended out rostrally caudally. In group, they dispersed over wider area including indicating their capability home. mean cavitation areas treated control significant the smallest observed group. Also highest neurotrophic factors expressions than other increasing pattern decreased Locomotor recovery scores increase improvement Conclusion: This work concluded that gave outstanding improvement. Intravenous route therapy provided locomotor while best histological neuroprotective outcomes.

Fate of Transplanted Bone Marrow Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Following Spinal Cord Injury in Rats by Transplantation Routes

This research was performed to investigate the differences of the transplanted cells' survival and differentiation, and its efficacy according to the delivery routes following spinal cord injury. Allogenic mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) were transplanted intravenously (IV group) or intralesionally (IL group) at post-injury 1 day in rats. Behavioral improvement, engraftment and differentiation of...

Regenerative Effect of Bone Marrow-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Thioacetamide-induced Liver Fibrosis of Rats

The present study determined the regenerative effect of bone marrow-derived stem cells (BMSCs) on thioacetamide (TA)-induced liver fibrosis in rats. A total of 30 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham control and treatment groups. The rats of the sham control group were subdivided into three groups and sampled on the 14th, 18th, and 20th weeks after fibrosis induction. The rats of th...

Impacts of Bone Marrow Stem Cells on Caspase-3 Levels after Spinal Cord Injury in Mice

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a drastic disability that leads to spinal cord impairment. This study sought to determine the effects of bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs) on caspase-3 levels after acute SCI in mice. Forty-two mice were randomly divided into 3 groups: control (2 subcategories), subjected to no intervention; sham (3 subcategories), subjected to acute SCI; and experimental (2 subcategori...
